Lawrence Memorial Hospital Helistop,

Glenn Livingood Penzler (GLP), a local
Lawrence-based architectural firm was selected to establish a permanent
helistop on the hospital campus. Prior to this project, helicopters had
landed in a heavily obstruction-impacted temporary landing site. GLP retained
Heliplanners to assist the entire project team with ensuring that the selected
site would meet recognized obstruction clearance criteria. Heliplanners
identified various obstructions and worked with the project team to ensure
their removal and/or relocation as well as assisting with other design
issues. The helistop was completed in 1996 and is now operational.
